Star Wars: Rebirth
The Leveling System
In Star Wars Saga Edition, the official way for you to level up is by gaining enough Experience Points from doing quests and killing folks to level up. But personally, I believe that that way is way too quick of a level-up method for me to really like it. I personally like to level up slower and more steadily, so that each level-up feels like you earned something.
The way I have the Experience and Leveling system goes like this:
Experience should be thought of more as a currency than anything else in my game. With your experience, you can spend it on things such as Force Points as well as ways in which you can spend your Force Points, and maybe another odd perk or two. You gain experience by completing optional quests, sneaking past guards, killing guards, doing something creative and effective, and so on.
On the other hand, to level up, you need to get Training Counters. You can only gain Training Counters by completing adventures. Typically, you get one Training Counter per adventure completed, and leveling up requires a certain number of Training Counters depending on what level you are trying to achieve. I will list those numbers below:
Level 1 to Level 2: 1 Training Counter
Level 2 to Level 3: 2 Training Counters
Level 3 to Level 4: 3 Training Counters
Level 4 to Level 5: 3 Training Counters
Level 5 to Level 6: 3 Training Counters
Level 6 to Level 7: 3 Training Counters
Level 7 to Level 8: 3 Training Counters
Level 19 to Level 20: 3 Training Counters
When you gain enough Training Counters to gain a level, you lose all the Training Counters you have, and start over, going up to your new number.
Below, I have posted a list of things you can buy by spending Experience on them:
